Engraved by Selmar Siebert. Lettering by F. Courtenay.<br><br>This map shows early roads and forts, as well as treaty lines agreed upon for the boundary of the United States and Mexico. Topography is charted through the large Kansas and Nebraska territories, and through the west coast, although much of the territory between them remains unexplored. This is an important and well detailed map of the western territories, documenting the shifting state lines and gradual settlement occurring at the time.
