  • EDITION SIZE: Board size 9 x 12 1/4" (21.3 x 31.3 cm)

  • DESCRIPTION: Initialed and titled in pencil "F.W.B. Long Point 1918." It is likely that the gentleman poling the boat is Benson’s friend and guide, George Snooks. It’s also possible that it is Benson himself in the front. Long Point, aka Long Boat Company, is a private hunting club on the shore of Lake Erie that Benson frequently visited. In Faith Andrews Bredford’s book, “The Sporting Art of Frank Benson” she quotes the following. “It is clear from Benson’s diaries that his experiences at Long Point were some of his most treasured memories.”
