  • DESCRIPTION: A scarce map of Florida, Texas, Gulf Coast, Southwest, Mexico and Central America. This map appeared in the second edition of De Fer's "Atla Curieux". It is one of the earliest maps to show the correct location of the Mississippi River delta gleaned from the expeditions of La Salle and Iberville. One prominent feature in Northern Mexico is "Les Fameuses Mines de Ste. Barbe," the legendary Santa Barbara mines of the Chihuahua-Durango region. Santa Fe is noted along the upper reaches of the Rio Grande.
