The Portfolio edition is titled "The Enduring Struggle, Tom Joad's America" with graphics by Antonio Frasconi, an introduction by Leon F. Litwack and published in 1991. <BR><BR> From the 'Portfolio' colophon, "... In my many years of being involved with fine printing, this project has been a most challenging one; the combination of offset lithography and woodcut within the same image created problems that I could not have solved without the tremendous help of our Master Printer "extraordinaire", Technical Specialist, and Computer Programmer, John Mastracchio, as well as his associates, Cliff Meador and Ilse Schreiber."<BR><BR> Text in the image states: "Erected by the members of the steelworkers organizing committee local unions in memory of the iron and steelworkers who were killed in Homestead, PA on July 6, 1892, while striking against the Carnegie Steel Company in Defense of their American Rights. Dedicated September 1, 1941.”
