  • DESCRIPTION: Blind stamped lower left, reads "Gallery of the American Automobile." "Nordyke & Marmon set up in Indianapolis in 1876 as milling machinery manufacturers. Their first car was designed by Howard Marmon in 1902; by 1906 the company was able to turn out a machine which finished the 1200-mile Glidden Tour with a perfect score. The Model 'D' touring body was made of cast aluminum and featured a V-4 engine, advertised as 'a mechanical masterpiece."
