  • DESCRIPTION: A fine large-scale pocket map of the island, color coded to the various towns of the time. Noted are villages, roads, churches, mills, and manufactories. The Long Island Rail Road extends eastward to Greenport. Today, the Port Jefferson Branch ends at Syosset. It notes all the early roads and early town names. A scarce and quite beautiful map of the island.
