DESCRIPTION: A very scarce map of Block Island. It appeared in a guide book, "Block Island. 1. A map and guide. 2. A History. (Abridged) by Rev. S. T. Livermore, A.M." Hartford, Conn. 125 pp. A condensed version of Livermore's classic history of the island. Illustrated with ads for hotels, steam boat lines and tourist establishments. <br><br> The map shows all the roads, identifies all the hotels including the Oceanview and locates all the existing homes on the island. Great Pond is still closed in and Old Harbor one has a single breakwater. The Palatine graveyard is also shown.
