Unfortunately due to increasing health issues Howard Cook could no longer travel by the mid 1960’s. For most of his artistic career he had a studio in New York City for several months a year. Howard would write that his time in New York City every year was important for him and renewed his inspiration for art. This drawing done in 1977 was when he was living in an assisted living facility so it is a reinterpretation of his 1928 woodcut of the same title. Like his paintings of this time period he has simplified shapes and is using colors found in the landscape of New Mexico where he was living.
