A fine map of Mexico covering an area from just north of Mazatlan to Acapulco and from Tehuacan to the Sierra Madres. An ornate and highly decorative map, with fabulous title cartouche and sailing ships. Ortelius is the best known for producing the atlas, "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, or Atlas of the Whole World". The atlas was immensely popular and was produced for over forty years.

Latin text and "6" on verso with gives it approximate dates of 1579, 1584 or 1592.
