Hardcover, blue cloth, with gold lettering. <br><br> Except from the introduction: There are few great American cartobibliograhies and Thompson's "Maps of Connecticut" is one. Published originally in two separate volumes, it covers maps published between 1642 and 1860. A work of great scholarship, it was published, unfortunately, in an edition of 250 copies. Now, over 50 years after its original publication, it is virtually unobtainable. Most of the copies have found their way into library collections from which they shall, most likely, never be liberated. Only a few are in private hands and they turn over very infrequently... that is why we reprinted it.
