  • DESCRIPTION: Sketched by J. Smith & Son Brooklyn N. Y. On stone by C. Parsons.<br><br> The Adelaide was a Medium clipper ship, built in New York in 1854 by A.C. Bell. She was built to operate as a Liverpool packet but due to the demand for ships to California she make three or four trips to San Francisco.. Her first trip to Liverpool was in 1860. She was lost at sea in 1875. The pilot is shown being rowed over to the Adelaide. A lovely impression of a rarely seen print.
