• DESCRIPTION: Two views on one sheet. The upper view shows the city from across the harbor. The lower view shows the local inhabitants haul seining for tuna between two watch towers, possibly today's La Caleta beach. In the fore ground folks are shown cooking and processing the catch. A numbered key identifies 24 prominent locations. This view appeared in Braun & Hogenburg's grand publication "Civitates Orbis Terrarum." This series contained over 500 city views/maps and was published in six parts between 1572 and 1617.
