DESCRIPTION: This fine map is technically a reproduction of one of the great early English produced Revolutionary war maps. Comprising of three separate maps, the largest map shows the convergence of American troops towards Boston from New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and General Washington from New York State bringing artillery which proved decisive in the battle of Bunkers Hill. The small inset map in the upper right is a plan of Boston Harbour. The lower inset map is a close up "Plan of the Town of Boston with the attack on Bunkers-Hill in the Peninsula of Charleston, the 17th of June, 1775. <br><br> The Walker Co. was formed in 1880 by George Hiram Walker and his brother Oscar. They were very prolific, publishing maps, atlases and bird's eye views of New England locales. The Walkers were the last of Boston's important lithographers.
