DESCRIPTION: H. Lips del. & sc.<br><br> Johann Heinrich Lips. 1758-1817. Swiss born engraver. Mostly did portrait engravings.<br><br> An unusual bust portrait of Franklin upon a pedistal with an image of Lady Liberty with liberty pole and cap in one hand and in the other placing a laurel wreath upon the head of Franklin. Below the pedistal is a cherib holding a world map, pointer in hand with the cities of Paris, Londfon, Berlin and Philadelphia shown.<br><br> A rare and unusual engraving.
