One of our gallery’s most diverse and significant collections, it has been built and promoted since 1898 with a focus on early American printmaking, painting, drawing, and sculpture. The collection spans over forty distinct subject categories, from Advertising Broadsides to Western and Native American themes. It features the work of hundreds of artists active in America, including John James Audubon, William J. Bennett, George Caleb Bingham, Currier & Ives (and other major print publishers), Winslow Homer, and Paul Revere, among others.
