  • DESCRIPTION: This post-World-War-I bird's eye view includes many of the newer Washington landmarks, such as the Lincoln Memorial, Union Station and the Library of Congress. On the Mall, beyond the Washington Monument, are the unattractive temporary buildings which provided needed office space during the war. A numbered and lettered key identifies 72 public buildings and institutions. Issued by the Baltimore and Ohio railroad, 'America's first Railroad - Washington's first Railroad."
