  • DESCRIPTION: An important separately issued broadside map of the American Colonies shown at the start of the Revolutionary War.<br><br> This map was produced early in the Revolutionary war. It covers are area from Cape Canaveral, Florida northward into Canada, to just west of the Mississippi. Depicted are national and provincial boundaries, cities, towns, roads and trails. Below the map and printed with a separate plate "A Compendious Account of the British Colonies in North-America" which is a description of the various regions depicted on the map. In the lower right corner of the map is “Evan’s Polymetric Table of America” which shows distances between various towns and cities.
