  • DESCRIPTION: Engraved by Joseph Yeager. Depicts the positions of the American and British forces. Many frontier forts are identified. One of a group of battle plan maps that accompanied Marshall's Life of Washington.<br><br> John James Marshall (1755--1835) was the fourth Chief Justice of the United States. A renowned Federalist, Marshall's admiration for George Washington led him to publish "The Life of Washington," a five-volume biography of the famed President and general. In 1832, he produced a revised and condensed two-volume edition with hand-colored maps.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: This piece is in a 9 1/2 x 12 1/4" inch archival mylar for handling.

  • CONDITION: Good condition and color save for some minor surface soiling and color offset. This series is known for having bad offsetting and or foxing. This is a particularly nice example.
