DESCRIPTION: This is a set of two sculptures. Artist chop on the bottom. This piece was soda fired. The kiln for a soda fire is generally around 2300°F (1260 c) – soda ash (sodium carbonate) or baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) vaporizes in the heat and interacts with the clay surface. This process is known for its dramatic and unpredictable results.
