  • DESCRIPTION: A fine Dutch bible map that was based on Nicholas Visscher's world map of 1631. (Shirley #431). Allegorical figures representing the continents adorn each corner. In the cusp between the two hemispheres are two astronomical diagrams.<br><br> Visscher's Bible map was probably the single most copied world map of the 17th and 18th Century, with a number of different engravers copying the cartography and decorative elements for nearly 100 years

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Nicely framed in a 3" black & gold scoop molding. Overall framed size 18.x 24 inches.
