The image is based on a drawing done during WWI titled "A Kiss for the Kaiser."

Bridgeport Brass was organized in 1865 to make brass clock movements, later in became famous for producing the copper wire strung between new York and Boston. They were a pioneer in the use of electric furnaces in the brass industry. During WWII they produced shell casings for the United States military.
