DESCRIPTION: The Hotel Claridge is at left, with The New York Times' old flatiron-style building behind it anchoring Times Square. The Times Tower is seen here just to the left of center. Designed by architects Cyrus L.W. Eidlitz and Andrew C. MacKenzie -clad the second-tallest building in Manhattan in Italian Renaissance terra cotta. The 25-story tower was home to the New York Times and opened with dramatic timing on December 31, 1904. <br><br>
