From the Surveys of Lt. W. W. Mather, U.S.M.A. 1832." And one that shows the continuation of the Boston, Norwich & New London Rail Road as far as New London. Thompson notes that this is the earliest charting of a railroad in the state of Connecticut. The Boston, Norwich & New London Rail Road was the first incorporated railroad in the state of Connecticut. Engraved by Daggett & Ely, New Haven. An applied label in the lower right notes "Colored and put up by C. S. Williams, N.Haven." Remarkably fine condition for a wall map of this period.
