  • DESCRIPTION: Blaeu's highly decorative map of the Caribbean.<br><br> Two cherubs hold the cartouche to which are added snakes, bats, lizards, and other New World fauna. This map is derived from the extremely rare circa 1631 chart by Hessel Gerritsz. <br><br> A beautiful, bright, and well-colored impression. Embellished with three compass roses, galleons under sail and a dedication cartouche.
