DESCRIPTION: This is the first atlas map to name Wyoming in the title and to show its correct territorial configuration. This map first appeared in the 1869 edition of "Colton's General Atlas." In the 1869 edition Wyoming had no county divisions. In this 1873 edition, there are now five counties. A large Dakota Territory has twenty counties. The Northern Pacific Railroad runs across Dakota and Montana. "This appeared in an 1873 edition of "Colton's General Atlas."
