He was born in Chicago and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cincinnati Art Academy. During the 1920’s he moved to New York where he worked as a commercial artist. During the depression he returned to Chicago and continued working as an artist. He had nine single artist exhibitions including a show at Kraushaar Galleries where he exhibited painting and lithographs.
