Judy Mensch received her BFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and her MFA from the Tyler School of Art in Rome, Temple University, Rome, Italy. She studied multi-color intaglio and photo etching at Studio Camnitzer in Aldottavo, Italy, and at Crown Point Press, San Francisco, CA.
She has shown her work throughout the US and abroad including The Old Print Shop, NYC, National Academy Museum, New York, NY, the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, India, the Hammond Museum, North Salem, NY, the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, and IPCNY, New York, NY.
Her prints are in collections including the New York Public Library, the New York Historical Society, The Free Library of Philadelphia, the Library of Congress, Deutsches Haus at New York University, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and Pfizer Inc., New York, NY, among others.
She was awarded fellowships to Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT, Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, NY, Ucross, Ucross, WY, and Centrum voor Grafiek Frans Masereel, Kasterlee, Belgium. She was awarded grants from Art Quest, the Nagasawa Art Park Pilot Project, on Awajishima, Japan, and Vermont Studio Center. She was also awarded a residency at Art Print Residence, Arenys de Munt, Barcelona, EU.
Her work was reviewed in the New York Times, as part of the Unfolding Visions exhibition at the Hammond Museum, North Salem, NY, and reviewed in the newsletter of The Etching Society after giving a lecture to their members at the National Arts Club. Her work was also reviewed in the Rome Daily American, Rome, Italy.
She has printed editions in Intaglio, Relief, Lithography, and Silkscreen and printed or assisted on editions for Sol LeWitt, Will Barnet, Paul Cadmus, Don Nice, and William Gropper, among others.
She is a founding member of Manhattan Graphics Center, New York, NY.
