Valentin Walter Bromley
Born in London to painter, William Bromley, who was to become his teacher. He was elected to the British Institute of Watercolor Painters at the age of 19.His wife Alice Louisa Maria Atkinson, also a landscape painter. He worked as an art correspondent for the Illustrated London News and was also a prolific book illustrator.In 1875, he traveled to America with Lord Dunraven, illustrating his book The Great Divide. He died suddenly before the age of 30.Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1865 to 1877, at Suffolk Street, and at the New Watercolor Society in London.
