Benjamin Henry Latrobe

British born neo-classical architect. Emigrated to the U.S. in 1796. In 1803 was hired by Thomas Jefferson to be the official Surveyor of the Public Buildings of the United States. He was also was the 2nd Architect of the Capitol. He has been called the "Father of American Architecture."
