Jules Worms

Jules Worms, French genre painter and illustrator. He began to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1849 under the tutelage of Jean-Baptiste-Adolf Lafrosse. He developed a style of comedic genre scenes, often of Spanish subjects. His subject matter ranged from romantic to bull fighters to jesters. Member of the Society of French Artists and winning awards in 1867, 1868, 1869; Member of the Legion of Honour in 1876.
