Josiah Cleaveland Cady

1837-1919

American architect best rememberd for his designs in Romanesque and Rundbogenstil styles. He was a prolific architect of late-nineteenth and early 20th century along with his long-term partners, Louis DeCoppet Berg and Milton See. Cady designed many celebrated public buildings of the day, including the original Metropolitan Opera House, the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Brooklyn Art Association.
