• DESCRIPTION: Engraved by Mme. Massard. From "Voyage de la Corvette l'Astrolabe execute pendant les annes 1826-1829," by M. Jules Dumont d"Urville. The purpose of this voyage was to gain new geographical and natural history information on the principal islands of the Pacific. The "Astrolabe" was named in commemoration of La Perouse's lost ship of that name.
