DESCRIPTION: Copper engraving by Robert van Voerst (1597-1636), after famed painter Antony Van Dyck (1599-1641), who is often called "the Flemish Raphael." Van Dyck was an apprentice to and colleague of Peter Paul Rubens. Later he also worked in London at the English court. A Dutch artist and engraver, van Voerst apprenticed to Cruspin de Passe before emigrating to London where he became engraver to the English court.
