The engravings highlight a wide spectrum of forms and colors, from yellow species marked with brown bands and white spots to brilliant sky-blue butterflies with white-tipped wings, alongside richly patterned browns, greens, and russets. Together they showcase both the diversity and the beauty of American Lepidoptera as seen through Seba’s celebrated natural history.
