• DESCRIPTION: From "Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesauri Accurata Descripto Et Iconibus Artificiosissmis Expressio. . . ."<BR><BR> Tabula XCI illustrates a variety of snakes and lizards arranged in an elaborate decorative composition characteristic of Seba’s Thesaurus. The reptiles twist and intertwine across the sheet in carefully balanced groupings that combine close scientific observation with the ornamental sensibility of Baroque print design. Individual attention is given to the rendering of scales, skin textures, claws, and patterned surfaces, emphasizing both anatomical detail and visual complexity.
