  • DESCRIPTION: Painted & engraved by Geo. Lehman but largely based on Thomas Birch's view of the same scene. The tree is the legendary sight of Penn's treaty with the Indians. Behind is a view of Philadelphia. In the title margin is an image of the marble monument erected by the Penn Society in 1827 to commemorate Penn's historic treaty. This is a early printing of the print, not to confused with the William Smith imprint, c. 1840, or the circa 1860 restrike.

  • CONDITION: Good condition, save for mat line surrounding the plate mark. Tear in right margin, outside of plate mark. Printed in color and finished by hand.
