  • DESCRIPTION: A fine uncut sheet with two allegorical representations. These two images were likely produced to celebrate the end of the War of 1812. John Scoles (c.1772-1853) worked both as an engraver and publisher. He worked in New York and is known to have produced portraits, views, preface, and title pages. He engraved a number of the views that appeared in the “New York Magazine (1793-96).
