It depicts Nathaniel Currier and his wife in their favorite sleigh. Currier was so pleased with the image that he added it to the collection of images offered by the firm.

This is without a doubt the most famous Currier & Ives image ever produced and a recognizable image of the holidays in America.

Best Fifty Currier & Ives Lithographs. • CONDITION: Good condition and color, save for old mat line in margins. It was decided not to clean the mat line because the color is so vibrant and beautiful. Cleaning would weaken the color and the mat line can be matted out so it is not visible.. One of the most beautiful impressions of this important print we have seen.
