DESCRIPTION: In this image the Prime Minister of England, William Pitt is shown being tarred and feathered by radical sympathizers Charles James Fox, MP (on right) and Richard Brinsley Sheridan, MP dumping feathers out of a French "Libertas" or Liberty Cap. Although not American, the subject matter is certainly taken from the Revolutionary War in the American colonies and the French Revolution.
