The series was originally published, in two volumes, between 1755 and 1760. Other editions being published in 1771 and 1809.<br><br> An alternate spelling of the plant's name is Lady's Mantle. Alchemilla's medicinal traits include being a styptic and an astringent, making it a prized herb back in day. It is used less in modern times, but it has hardly been forgotten.
