DESCRIPTION: Plate 24 from August Kollner's "Views of American Cities". A scarce series of 54 plates that was published between 1848 to 1851 by Goupil, Vibert of New York & Paris with the printing done in Paris by Deroy and Cattier. These prints are known for their high quality printing and exquisite handcoloring. In 1944 Helen Comstock wrote that this series is outstanding as to the geographical coverage, architectural detail and attractiveness of composition through the introduction of figures and vehicles.
