• DESCRIPTION: This lithograph depicts John McCracken Robinson (1794-1843), a prominent Illinois Senator from 1830 to 1841. A Jacksonian Democrat, he chaired influential committees, including Militia and Post Office and Post Roads. In 1843, he was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court, though he passed away soon after.
