  • DESCRIPTION: A 19th-century bird's-eye view of the Wason Manufacturing Company in Springfield, Mass., opened in 1845. They produced passenger cars for trains and streetcars. The company shut down in 1932 because of the Great Depression. This view is captured as a steel engraving and handcolored to highlight the details.
