Looking deeper one sees a complex series of symbols and symbolism. Double anchors, unusually dressed people including natives, a well-dressed couple, people working another resting, a mariner with a spyglass, etc. In the foreground is a large pile of parcels and crates, many with unusual symbols. On the left are a series of parcels. One has 'R S" and the Star of David on it. Another reads, 'Lasa Piano'. The palm trees suggest they are in the West Indies.
