  • DESCRIPTION: Drawn by R. Beechy; Engraved by Edwd. Finden. This portrait shows the last surviving member of the mutinous crew of the H.M.S. Bounty. This image was drawn by Midshipman Richard Beechey, brother of Captain Frederick Beechey, This image depicts a very relaxed man, not afraid of fate. A very similar but different portrait was also used in the book “Narrative of a voyage to the Pacific and Beering's strait, to co-operate with the polar expeditions: performed in His Majesty's ship Blossom, under the command of Captain F.W. Beechey ... in the years 1825, 26, 27, 28.” By William Frederick Beechey. A scarce separately issued portrait.
