• DESCRIPTION: A large advertising poster for the Hallet, Davis & Co. music company, which was one of the oldest historic piano manufacturers in Boston. This print shows the company’s factory, erected in 1866 in Boston’s South End on Harrison Avenue and Brookline Street. The print states that Hallet, Davis & Co. is the sole agency for Rugg’s Music Store in Lowell, Mass. It includes a detailed street scene outside the factory, showing groups of people, horse-drawn carriages, and factory wagons transporting boxed pianos.
