  • DESCRIPTION: This handkerchief was published immediately after Harrison and Morton secured their nominations at the Republican National Convention in June of 1888. Harrison ran against the incumbent Grover Cleveland, and though he lost the popular vote,, he won the Electoral College by a good, clear margin. Souvenir campaign bandanas were introduced during the 1840 Presidential campaign of Benjamin Harrison's grandfather - William Henry "Tippecanoe" Harrison.
