  • DESCRIPTION: Painted by G. C. Bingham. Drawn on stone by Regnier. Imp. Lemercier, r de Seine 57, Paris. This is one of the rarest of the great Bingham prints. The only one that is harder to find is "The Verdict of the People." According to Bloch, Bingham wrote a letter to Goupil & Company stating that he was dissatisfied with the print and wanted the firm to make a large scale engraving of the image. The engraved or second version was never produced.
