Printed for Seddon, Spotswood, Cist, and Trenchard, 1788 December. <br><br> This important fort was constructed in 1778 to protect the lead ore mining of the Sinking Spring Valley needed for ammunition. Fort Robertdeau, aka “the Lead Mine Fort.” was one of the many frontier forts Pennsylvanians built during the American Revolution.<br><br> All prints and maps that appeared in the Columbian Magazine are considered to be rare.
