  • DESCRIPTION: On September 12 and 13th 1759, the English Major General Wolfe, 31 years of age, attempted to take Quebec from the French. In the ensuing battle both he and Marquis de Montcalm (the French commander) lost their lives. <br><br> This tragic event occurred during the French and Indian War (also known as the Seven Years' War). <br><br> This image is loosely based on Benjamin Wests printing.
